Hello Clare, my older sister lives in Cambridgshire, March to be exact. I dont drive, but my three sons do, they all have PC's, and use AA or some other route planing service.

Roger, that was most useful. So you can get printable maps from the net. What ever do the fish make of this? :O)
I see you come from Abingdon, one of the few places that i do know the position of.

Maps are printed with north at the top [in UK] and a car compas does help sometimes, and plan your rout well beforehand, using the free map printouts available on the net, but remember, some sites give you the straitest line to where you want to go, which is not always the quickest, so you might have to decide between country lanes or motorways.

Hayley,
You just cannot beat me at getting lost. I think that part of my brain just did not develop, I could get lost in my backyard. Worse still, I cannot for the life of me read a map, I wonder, do we keep turning the map as we follow the lanes on it? Anyways I empathize with you and whenever you despair think of Neeraja far away in Chennai who is worse off! Bye,
Neeraja
